not revolutionary but goodIf you are into being the best you, it’s unlikely you’ll be gobsmacked by anything in this book but it’s a good reminder and easy-to-follow account to meeting your goals。 Enjoyed the book and am reinvigorated in my pursuits because of it。 Worth the read。

I excerpted this from another review I saw that closely mirrors my thoughts about this book, - "Singing the same tune of other business minded achievement books。 Not unhelpful information, just ideas I've heard from others put into his own words。" -While it was a good book, it definitley read like some of the information was just being regurtitated over and over。 It was a motivational read and it did lend some helpful insight into my own motives and goals。 I excerpted this from another review I saw that closely mirrors my thoughts about this book, - "Singing the same tune of other business minded achievement books。 Not unhelpful information, just ideas I've heard from others put into his own words。" -While it was a good book, it definitley read like some of the information was just being regurtitated over and over。 It was a motivational read and it did lend some helpful insight into my own motives and goals。 。。。more

This book delivers exactly what the title says: a clear plan to achieve your goals。 It could use fewer religion-related examples。 I will very likely come back to it and re-read certain parts。 8/10。

too preachy and not enough new ideasIf I’d known this was going to be such a god-focussed book, I’d not even have started it。 A few good concepts, although absolutely nothing new on the subject, ruined by far too much sanctimonious religious wringing of hands。

I actually preferred this book to his other book, Free to Focus。 This book wasn't as much as an advertisement for his planner as the Free to Focus book。 This book was well-written and well-organized。 It condensed a lot of self-help techniques into one book。 Many of the concepts are familiar to those who have read books like The Power of Habit, Eat That Frog!, and others。 However, this book, although it did not contain much new information, was a good review of many important productivity concept I actually preferred this book to his other book, Free to Focus。 This book wasn't as much as an advertisement for his planner as the Free to Focus book。 This book was well-written and well-organized。 It condensed a lot of self-help techniques into one book。 Many of the concepts are familiar to those who have read books like The Power of Habit, Eat That Frog!, and others。 However, this book, although it did not contain much new information, was a good review of many important productivity concepts。 I would definitely recommend it to someone new to the field or someone who just wants a quick refresher, possibly before setting a new goal for themselves or embarking on a new project。 Overall, this book was well-designed, concise, and clearly-written。 Only in the final pages did he advertise for his planner。 Overall, it was a decent read。 。。。more

This was good read。 The author gave many actionable steps to take regarding goal setting。 It reminded me of a more corporate, masculine version of the company Cultivate What Matters and their main product Powersheets。 It was a worthwhile read/listen and reminded me of some good goal setting practises。

This book is supposedly based on real science, which I thought sounded a bit strange considering that these same ideas are actually common sense。 And that's where it lost me。 Though I did finish this audiobook, I felt that most of the steps that the author wants you to take in order to make this your best year ever were easily done by simply changing one's mindset。 As someone who's read so many self help books, that's all it really is。 Shift your mindset。 This book is supposedly based on real science, which I thought sounded a bit strange considering that these same ideas are actually common sense。 And that's where it lost me。 Though I did finish this audiobook, I felt that most of the steps that the author wants you to take in order to make this your best year ever were easily done by simply changing one's mindset。 As someone who's read so many self help books, that's all it really is。 Shift your mindset。 。。。more

I enjoyed this book and think it’s an easy read。 Definitely the type of book you need to pause as you go, underline, highlight and take notes for yourself。 Something to read over and over as you have new goals and visions for yourself。

I’ve enjoyed Hyatt’s podcasts over the years, but the book was a bit formulaic and predictable。

This is an in depth look at effective goal setting that you can actually stick with。 I really appreciate Michael Hyatt’s holistic approach, incorporating 10 different aspects of life: spiritual, intellectual, emotional, physical, marital, familial, social, vocational, avocational, and financial。

This one was so-so。 It is mainly common sense for goal setting。 Have you heard about SMART goals? If so, you won't learn anything new from this book。 The author references those btw, but adjusts them。What is this book about? How to set goals and think of them from various angles。How does that happen? Through a 5 step program that discussed beliefs, reflection, thinking ahead, having a solid reason, and putting it into action。The author self promotes his products as part of this。 I get it but it This one was so-so。 It is mainly common sense for goal setting。 Have you heard about SMART goals? A must for learning how to go get it! Wish I would have read it in my 20s, 30’s, 40’s…

Provides a very good roadmap for achieving success if you’re ready to put in the work。So much seems like common sense yet why aren’t we doing it? Enjoyed it。

If I had read this book sooner, I am 100% sure I would've already achieved my goals。 Highly recommended for those still starting out with life, and also for those struggling to "get there", whatever that may be for you。 Very detailed and simple steps on how to achieve your aspirations and all that。 A lot of takeaways from this book。 I will be using this as a guide for this year's goals。 😊🤩 If I had read this book sooner, I am 100% sure I would've already achieved my goals。 Highly recommended for those still starting out with life, and also for those struggling to "get there", whatever that may be for you。 Very detailed and simple steps on how to achieve your aspirations and all that。 A lot of takeaways from this book。 I will be using this as a guide for this year's goals。 😊🤩 。。。more

Some of the tips and tricks for goal setting and habit development seem helpful, while others seem pretty tailored to neurotypical folks, as well as a lack of discussion for intersectional barriers。 Additionally, many of the quotes and examples rely on highly religious and far right wing “influencers” and billionaires, such as Dave Ramsey and Peter Thiel, without critical discussion of these figures。 This book fits solidly within the thinly veiled Christian self help book to right wing pipeline。 Some of the tips and tricks for goal setting and habit development seem helpful, while others seem pretty tailored to neurotypical folks, as well as a lack of discussion for intersectional barriers。 Additionally, many of the quotes and examples rely on highly religious and far right wing “influencers” and billionaires, such as Dave Ramsey and Peter Thiel, without critical discussion of these figures。 This book fits solidly within the thinly veiled Christian self help book to right wing pipeline。 The format was also a bit awkward, and seems more like attempts to market the authors trade marked phrasing, worksheets, and other courses; call outs for different quotes taking up an entire page feel a bit excessive for my preferred reading and layout style。 。。。more

Did not finish。 Read a book summary instead。 Started this book but couldn’t make it through。 I’ve read a lot of self help, goals and personal success oriented books and this one wasn’t grabbing me。 I don’t consider myself that critical when it comes to fiction or entertainment media but I guess I am pretty critical when it comes to nonfiction。

Listened to the audiobook, enjoyed most of what it had to say。 Hard to follow any of the homework assignments when you're listening in the car, want to go back and try to maybe write down and journal like he suggests。 Listened to the audiobook, enjoyed most of what it had to say。 Hard to follow any of the homework assignments when you're listening in the car, want to go back and try to maybe write down and journal like he suggests。 。。。more

This isn’t my usual type of book but for various reasons was looking to read more about goal setting and this has good reviews / reputation。 Overall, it was OK。 It gave me some different things to think about, but not convinced it’s going to be as life changing as the title makes it out to be。 Most people’s knowledge of goal setting probably come from doing SMART objectives at work, and that’s probably about it。 He does refer to those, and also expands on how to make them even SMARTER by adding This isn’t my usual type of book but for various reasons was looking to read more about goal setting and this has good reviews / reputation。 Overall, it was OK。 It gave me some different things to think about, but not convinced it’s going to be as life changing as the title makes it out to be。 Most people’s knowledge of goal setting probably come from doing SMART objectives at work, and that’s probably about it。 He does refer to those, and also expands on how to make them even SMARTER by adding a couple of more emotional led factors to the original SMART。 (Make them exciting and have some risk or you you won’t be motivated to do them)。 The writing style’s clear and easy to follow。 The tone is positive and encouraging, and almost feels like you’re getting a (written) coaching session from him。 It’s well structured overall, and he shares some decent mental frameworks。 He does reference some studies from academics who work in this area, though it’s a little light on the science if you did want to go deeper into goal setting。 However, I did find the planning sections a lot stronger than the action sections in terms of how convincing his recommendations were。 He gives some examples of how to make sure you action your goals, but at times it all goes a bit generic and vague。 It also feels like it’s geared towards American readers, and some of the references may not work in other cultures。 There’s also a bit of “stealth Jesus” in the writing (as another reviewer put it), where he quotes Bible passages and building in prayer time as part of your overall goal setting。 It’s not overdone, but if that’s not your thing, you may find those sections less relevant。 There’s also a fair amount of self promotion / cross selling for his other courses / works。 That seems pretty par for the course with books in this personal development / self help area。 It wasn’t as blatant / intrusive as some others I’ve read, but it’s definitely there。 Overall, it wasn’t life changing, but interesting and helpful enough for what I needed。 It’s got a great title, and I often find books with great titles end up failing to live up to their promise。 This one just about gets away with it as there's some ideas in here I’ll be trying out。 Decent read if you want to look at goal setting。 。。。more
